I have always loved throwing a great party. However, unlike many people, I enjoy planning the parties even more than I do hosting them and mixing and mingling with my guests. While many people think that magicians are just for children's parties, I have a favorite magician who never fails to entertain my group of adult friends. In a couple of short years, it will be the year 2020. All jokes aside, one could say that this will be the year where everyone sees with perfect clarity. On that note, here are a bunch of ideas on how to throw a New Year's Eve party for 2020:
Oversized Gag Glasses Decorated with Green and Gold Glitter
Have everyone at your party wear oversized gag eyeglasses with no lenses. Dip the frames in glue and then cover them with green and gold glitter for good fortune and much wealth in the coming year. Tell everyone that this is what you see coming for them in the new year!
Everyone Comes to the Party Wearing Glasses of Some Sort
Rose-colored glasses, Groucho Marx glasses, beer goggles, etc., etc.,- whatever kinds of crazy, fun, fake eyeglasses people can come up with, have them wear them to your party. It will be like a masquerade for your faces! It will also be fun to see what kinds of creative and unique ideas everyone comes up with.
Use Eye Charts as Wall Decorations and Banners
Taking a page right out of the optometrist's retirement party, find or make eye charts and use them as posters. Cut them up and string them along to create party banners. Get goofy with vision props. Find the creative in you, and you will find enough stuff to decorate your "2020" party.
Serve "Eye"-waiian Punch, Long "Eye"-land Iced Tea, and Other "Eye" Drinks
Yes, it is corny, but it is also a little fun. You will have to think of all of the drinks that start with an "I" or with the "I" sound in order to come up with some very creative cocktails. Post these on a chalkboard, along with the ingredients, and let your guests choose from the list. Hire a bartender to mix drinks so that everyone can just have fun at the party and no one has to do the grunt work.

It is not a party without something to eat. Sure, it may be cold in late December, but that hardly stops most people from grilling out. If you are brave, grill rib-eye steaks for everyone, and offer "eye"ce-cream desserts. Maybe you can come up with a few of your own "2020" eats, just by thinking about this particular theme for your New Year's Eve party, and what might be fun to see on the buffet table.
