Tips for Creative Party Entertainment

I have always loved throwing a great party. However, unlike many people, I enjoy planning the parties even more than I do hosting them and mixing and mingling with my guests. While I enjoy decorating and preparing food to serve my guests, my favorite aspect of a party to plan is the entertainment. I have hired DJs, live bands, and even magicians. While many people think that magicians are just for children's parties, I have a favorite magician who never fails to entertain my group of adult friends. I love party planning so much that I decided to create a blog to share my party planning tips on with a focus on party entertainment!

Are You Creating An Entertainment Center In Your Home?

Andre Butler

Have you decided that you want to focus on fun when you decorate your family room? Maybe you are moving into a brand new house and you get to start the decorating process from scratch. Or, you might be redecorating the family room in your present home. No matter the scenario, from selecting a floor to ceiling wall shelf to adding game tables to the room, here are some ideas that might help you.

Start With The Wall Shelf - If you are creating an entertainment center as your family room, you more than likely want a place to watch movies and your favorite television shows, right? In addition, maybe you've decided that it's the right time to select a big screen television set. While that will probably be one of your greatest expenses, you more than likely already know that it will be money very well spent.

Choose a floor to ceiling wall shelf that will hold not only your television set, but also your sound system. The great thing about selecting a shelf that will cover up an entire wall is that you'll also have space to store things like CDs, DVDs, board games, and puzzles. In addition, there will probably be enough space to store your book collection and to display things like framed photographs and your favorite collectibles, say your beer mug collection or your collection of jungle animal figurines.

Add Game Tables - How large is your family room? If there's enough space, consider buying game tables to add to the fun setting. For example, an air hockey table or a pool table might take people away from watching movies and television shows for a change. If there's space, think about buying a ping pong table, too. Air hockey, ping pong, and pool tables are more than likely a lot more affordable than you thought they would be.

Even use the walls for fun. For example, buy a dart board for one of the walls. Even the art work that you select for the room will add interest to the area. For example, have you seen those pictures of dogs playing poker together? Wouldn't a framed picture like that one be fun in your own entertainment center? Or, you could even frame actual game cards. Consider even framing an old game board that you don't use anymore because it got too old.

Stenciling would be a nice touch. Even something simple like, Come join the fun! would be a great stencil choice for your entertainment room.
